Deadline: October 20, 2023

We are thrilled to once again be able to offer innovation grants to teachers in our elementary, middle, and high schools striving to enhance educational and life opportunities for all students.. What kind of innovations can teachers bring to the classroom with additional resources of up to $2,000? Will it facilitate learning in the classroom? Help students develop new skills? Center on a field trip? Involve the arts? Explore STEM programs? Will it create an apprenticeship program? Focus on leadership? Build character? Develop community awareness? Let’s find out!

LPCSD faculty and staff are eligible to apply for one of these Innovation Grants.  The Fund will grant smaller or larger grants (ranging from $200 to $2,000) at each school level.  Priority will be placed on grant projects that meet the following criteria:

  • Most importantly, the project should attempt to close the opportunity gap;

  • Involve an innovative approach to teaching and learning;

  • Foster or enhance student and/or teacher creativity;

  • Include activities adnd/or purchases that are not covered by the school district;

  • Seed a new program or initiative that is likely to continue for at least several years;

  • Introduce students to new experiences that they would not likely have otherwise;

  • Enable teachers and staff to experiment with new approaches;

  • Promote goals that are articulated in the LPCSD Strategic Plan or in the Educational Opportunity Fund mission statement.

Grant Process & Policies

1.    All grant proposals will be submitted here on the EdOp Fund website.

2.    Each proposal will be reviewed by board members who may direct questions or requests for clarification to the person requesting the grant.

3.    In some cases, the Ed Op Fund may ask that proposals be revised and resubmitted.  Revisions should be communicated directly to the Board member assigned for that proposal.

4.    The Ed Op Fund Advisory Board will decide on which grants to fund. Final decisions will be communicated to each applicant.  The Fund’s Treasurer will track all awarded grants.

5.    It is anticipated that all charges billed to the Fund reflect the work to be done as described in the grant application. Should the work expand or change beyond what was described in the original proposal, it is expected that the grantee will inform the Ed Op Fund Board of this "Change In Scope" for their approval.

6.    Recipients will report back to the Ed Op Fund upon completion of the project.
